Career Biography – Pam Truman

Pam is a dedicated and highly experienced business consultant, negotiator and accredited Commercial Mediator. Having enjoyed a highly successful blue chip career on the Boards of NEXT plc and Ragdoll Ltd, Pam has also worked independently in consultancy roles supporting SMEs in a variety of sectors – both private and not for profit. Pam is also a trained Family Mediator, working towards FMC accreditation under the wing of her Professional Practice Consultant, Julian Rendall.
In 2014 her interest in studying law got the better of her and Pam recently achieved Post Graduate qualifications in the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and the Legal Practice Course (LPC), both with Distinction. Pam is a volunteer at the court based charity, the Personal Support Unit, in the Liverpool Civil & Family Court, where she supports Litigants in Person facing civil or family proceedings alone. These interests inspired Pam to focus her career in mediation.
A highly commercial and pragmatic problem solver, Pam has a wealth of experience and is equally at home helping parties to resolve disputes in a wide range of businesses, from large organisations to owner managed businesses. Pam often works with an experienced co-mediator where she believes this would clearly benefit the clients.
Pam is a first class communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, combined with legal training. She has a ready understanding of the different kinds of situations people find themselves facing in both business and in family scenarios. With extensive commercial and life experience in helping parties to resolve emotive and contentious issues, Pam is well suited to mediate a range of disputes. She is a perceptive and highly empathetic people person who is always firmly focused on the client.
Pam prides herself on offering a flexible and dynamic approach, adapting the mediation process to best suit the clients and the issues at hand. Hailing from Liverpool, Pam’s open and down to earth approach is welcomed by clients facing difficult situations and decisions.
Out of the office, Pam loves a challenge. Her current adventure is participating as amateur crew in the Round the World Clipper Race – racing a 70ft yacht across the Southern Ocean from Uruguay to Capetown, and then tackling the North Atlantic from New York to Liverpool in June 2018. She also has a penchant for black Labradors and can often be spotted being pulled along the beaches and trails of the Sefton Coast by the latest puppy.
